Trigger: Passive output mode, with high real-time requirements, such as capturing moving objects. The trigger signal can be generated by software or by a sensor / mechanical switch, which is called soft / hard trigger.

There is a special interface trigger signal in the camera SDK, and you can also set the frame number. Different industrial cameras provide different programming interfaces (SDKs). Although the programming interfaces are different between cameras with different interfaces, their actual API structure and programming model are very similar. After understanding these, programming industrial cameras is simple. DMA technology, DMA controller, performs high-speed transfer operations without CPU processing.

Selection of camera trigger mode

1) Continuous acquisition mode: optional for static detection, optional for products that cannot be triggered by continuous motion;

2) Software trigger mode: selectable for dynamic detection, and the continuous motion of the product can give the trigger signal;

3) Hardware trigger mode: High-speed dynamic detection is optional, and continuous high-speed motion of the product can give trigger signals.
